No longer a non-knitter

Sometimes it feels like I'm the last person on earth who doesn't know how to knit.

Rather than continue to boast about my ignorance, I've decided to teach myself how!

Today I picked up more knitting needles than I will probably ever use in my whole lifetime.

The boxes are packed full. And, yes, I realize one is for crochet hooks.

But I say, the more the merrier!

Less than a third of what I brought home today.

So far I have experimented with the knit and purl stitches in both the Continental and English/throw method, and it's like learning to ride a bike for the first time, but in two different and conflicting ways.

Like riding a bike, though, you only get better with practice!

But honestly, at this point, the only thing that keeps me going is the dream of looking like this someday:

...someday...

  1. Good for you! I'm next- I picked up some needles and a skein of yarn last week, and have been waiting for a free moment to sit down and try it!

    1. With a little practice, we'll be experts in no time! I've made good strides in the last few days, to the point where I would feel comfortable knitting a whole scarf!

Maybe you can find a group of knitters in your area who meet regularly and can answer any questions that may come up.

  2. You're not the last in the world to not know how to knit! I started to try but I can't figure out how to back out and correct something if I drop a stitch or something gets messed up. I've been hoping to find someone who could take the time to guide me a bit more. I have to say, your blog is fascinating. It's been so interesting digging through your posts. Hopefully, I too will be a knitting needle wielding ninja soon.
